National Lok Adalat was today held across the State in which 166 cases were settled for an amount of Rs 69, 67,018.44 was settled.
The number of cases taken up at the Lok Adalat was 946, out of which, 578 are Pre-Litigation cases and 368 pending cases.
Held under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) the National Lok Adalat was held under the patronage of the High Court Chief Justice Sanjib Banerjee, also patron-in-chief of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority and under the supervision of Justice H.S.Thangkhiew.
