The Khasi Jaintia Christian Leaders Forum (KJCLF) has expressed deep dismay and sadness that violence in Manipur is “continuing unabated”.
The KJCLF held an emergent meeting yesterday and today, in a press release, its secretary, Rev Edwin H Kharkongor, said, “The heinous violence which has claimed a number of lives, caused destruction to innumerable churches, properties and human settlements need to stop. The forum appeals to the citizens of Manipur to cease the fighting and return to calm.”
The KJCLF expressed solidarity with “all the victims of the violence” and called on all Christians, churches and Christian forums in the region to voice their concerns and show togetherness with those affected by the “unmitigated violence”.
