The Jaiñtia Youth Federation (JYF) has expressed concern over the delay in payment of pending salaries to employees of the Jaiñtia Hills Autonomous Council (JHADC).
The JYF said the failure of the state government to find solution to the clear their dues has affected the functioning of the district council.
The JYF said that despite two sit-in protests staged by the staff it is unfortunate that the government has not come up with a solution. “The assurance given by the State government to release the pending salaries is a failure from its end and a matter of false promise being made from time to time,” JYF president OL Tariang said.
The organisation has also written to Chief Executive Member, Thombor Shiwat urging him to take necessary actions and to put pressure on the concern authority so that the ten month pending salaries should be released at the earliest.
