A one day workshop on safety and precautions while dealing with petroleum products was organized by a team from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) at 4 Bn Border Security Force (BSF) at Umpling here.
During this programme, personnel of the BSF motor transport unit participated. The IOC team delivered a lecture-cum-demo on different issues, such as how to check the purity of petroleum, safety and security of petrol pumps, action during fire in petroleum dumps, norms of using mobile phones during filling of fuel at petrol pumps, calibration of petrol pump tanks and other safety issues.
After the event, a memento was presented to IOC officials by BSF Commandant Devender Singh. The border force and IOC officials also celebrated World Environment Day together by planting saplings.
