IIM Shillong recently registered 400 participants for its Postgraduate Programme (PGP) in Management, leading to the MBA degree.
This is the 17th batch of this programme, with the first having been in 2008. The registration process witnessed the enrolment of students from diversified backgrounds who made it after years of hard work and dedication.
The admissions process for PGP 2024-26 was rigorous, beginning with the CAT examinations. This year, IIM Shillong received 2,29,533 applicants. The subsequent personal interview process was conducted in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi and Kolkata from February to April.
The PGP 2024-26 batch demonstrates a fairly balanced gender ratio with 45 percent female and 55 percent male. The average age is 23.7 years, with the youngest participant being 20 years old and the eldest 29. Participants come from diverse academic backgrounds, with 35 percent holding Engineering degrees. Apart from undergraduate degrees, participants also hold a variety of masters degrees.
A significant 72 percent of the batch brings prior work experience and the postgraduates hail from 21 states and 2 Union territories in India.
