The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s Regional Outreach Bureau, Shillong conducted a cleaning drive on the office premises as part of the ministry’s specific Swachhta Pakhwada today.
The Director of the Bureau, Engam Pame, administered the Swachhta pledge to all employees under the Shillong region. The bureau, which handles the awareness programmes of the central government in the states of Meghalaya and Tripura, also connected its field units through video conferencing for this session.
As part of the swachhta initiatives, the in-house session also focused on taking steps to avoid the use of single use plastics at homes and workplaces.
The Bureau will also hold online competitions on Swachhta and Mahatma Gandhi on January 30 on its twitter handle @ROBShillong to increase awareness on cleanliness using the ideals of the father of the nation.
