NPP Lok Sabha candidate Ampareen Lyngdoh today threw a challenge to her rival contenders for the Shillong seat to specify the number of villages they have visited to meet the people.
“There are candidates contesting the coming elections only by sitting in a room using the social media to reach out to the public. How many villages out of the 36 constituencies have they set foot on? They must answer and I am ready to even put up a public challenge,” she said at Ïonglwit Nongjngi in West Jaiñtia Hills district.
Lyngdoh said as the d-day approaches, other political parties spread baseless rumours which voters should be aware and cautious not to fall trap.
She further sought the support from the people there with a promise to fulfill her duties if elected as the MP. “Being from a family that has served the public with traits passed on from my late father, Peter G Marbaniang I will serve and not here to be served,” she added.
Other present to drum support for Lyngdoh were Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, MLA Comingone Ymbon and Wailadmiki Shylla, JHADC CEM Thombor Shiwat, MDC Lasting Suchiang and Aibor Shadap.
