More than 3,000 football fans had gathered at the Chief Minister’s Football Fan-Park at Polo, adorned in vibrant jerseys and wielding banners. The moment that resonated was when the camera panned to the fans, capturing their uncontainable euphoria.
FIFA featured a video of the enthusiastic fans on its official World Cup social media page and captioned, “Thank you 🇮🇳 Shillong for this beautiful showcase of football’s power to unite – the FIFA World Cup is the world’s game and it is bringing people together far and wide!”
