Governor Chandrashekhar H. Vijayashankar today visited the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Directorate, NER (Shillong) to celebrate National Sports Day with the cadets.
In his speech, he emphasised on the vital contributions of the Indian Armed Forces and the role of NCC in shaping future leaders.
The Governor appreciated the NCC’s unwavering dedication and commitment to excellence and praised the organisation for its efforts in disaster management, noting how NCC’s training equips cadets with leadership skills, resilience, and courage.
He also highlighted the recognition given to NCC ‘C’ certificate cadets in government services and higher education and encouraged cadets to carry forward the lessons learnt during their NCC training, which shall remain valuable throughout their lives.
The government assured the NCC of a full fledged assistance and unwavering support from the Raj Bhavan.
Later, the Governor presented a memento to Additional Director General Major General Gagandeep and cash reward to the young girls of NCC Brass Band for their spellbound performance.
