The All Lyngngam Organization (ALO), a long-established voluntary group in Ri Lyngngam, was revived after 13 years of inactivity.
A meeting was held at Vani Hall in Pyndengrei, Nongstoiñ on March 29 with the induction of new leaders for the 2025-2028 with Kwirinus Mawsor administering the oath.
Founded in 1986, ALO aims to foster unity, promote education, and preserve Lyngngam traditions. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including MLAs, MDCs, officials, doctors, clergy, and community members.
Dr. Bostick Mawsor was elected president, with Bendrowell Hashah serving as secretary among the 18 new leaders selected. The program included cultural performances, and the “Khusnam Kynmaw Tympang 2025” awards were presented to honour distinguished individuals in the community.
MLA Pius Marweiñ who attended the programme encouraged the youth to engage actively and emphasized the importance of preserving traditions, particularly marriage customs, warning of the negative impact their decline could have on the Lyngngam community.
