Former KSU general secretary Auguster Jyrwa has decided to join the UDP in order to support party candidates from West Shillong and North Shillong constituencies.
Jyrwa had contested the KHADC election in 2019 from Jaiaw constituency on Congress ticket. However, he lost to UDP candidate Paul Lyngdoh.
He also held the post of ad hoc president of West Shillong Congress Committee and also as secretary of Shillong City Congress Committee.
He will be welcomed into the UDP on October 20 at a party meeting in Dinam Hall, Jaiaw where party supporters from West Shillong and North Shillong will be present.
