The family members of the missing couple from Indore, Madhya Pradesh have urged the central government to deploy additional forces to help locate the duo.
In a video statement here today, Bipin Raghuvanshi, the brother of Raja Raghuvanshi, said that, though the local police are making efforts to locate them, they have so far been unsuccessful.
The couple have now been missing for 10 days. Raja (30) and his wife Sonam (27) had come to Meghalaya for their honeymoon.
Bipin made his plea to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma. He urged authorities to deploy the Border Security Force and army personnel to help them in finding the missing couple. He even went to the extent to say that if central forces are not deployed there will be no results in the case.
The state government has engaged almost 50 people, consisting of police personnel, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams as well as local villagers to search for the couple. In addition, sniffer dogs and drones have been deployed to locate them in difficult to reach areas. The search operations have been hampered, however, by torrential and persistent rain over the past several days.
