The East Jaiñtia Hills Deputy Commissioner issued an order yesterday under Section 144 of the CrPC to protect rivers, rivulets and drains in the district.
The DC banned indiscriminate dumping of garbage in the drains, rivulets and rivers of the district. In a more general prohibition, he also banned “attempts to cause any sort of activities that may have adverse impact on the ecosystem and human survival.”
