Shillong, Aug 30: The East Jaintia Hills unit of the Hynniewtrep Youths’ Council (HYC) held its general meeting at Ladrymbai Datsimpein where office bearers, leaders and members of the organisation, along with leaders from the HYC central body came together to deliberate on various matters concerning public service.
The chief organising secretary of the HYC delivered a brief speech encouraging office bearers and members to strengthen the functioning of the organisation and to remain ready to serve and participate in public causes.
Preios Pale, president of HYC East Jaintia Hills, stressed the need to expand the organisation into different areas so that its service would not remain confined to existing locations but reach villages and regions that require leadership, assistance and cooperation.
On the same day, the organisation also conducted an oath-taking ceremony for two newly formed circles – Shiphew Shnong and Niaw Shnong. This was a step by HYC East Jaintia Hills to further expand its presence and bring the organisation closer to the people.
