Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Mendal has been adjudged winners of the district-level Science, Mathematics and Environment exhibition held in Resubelpara today and will represent North Garo Hills at the State level exhibition.
Altogether eight schools participated at the exhibition under the theme, “Technology and Toys” and different sub themes such as “Mathematical Solution in Everyday Life” and “Eco-Friendly Materials.”
The aim of the exhibition was to inculcate scientific temperament among students.
Deputy Speaker and local MLA, Timothy D Shira attended the exhibition and said that Science was part and parcel of everyday life and students should develop interests in it, which would enable them to solve everyday problems.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, ZJ Sangma in his speech encouraged students to remove fear revolved around Science and explore its various traits. He added that students should have positive mindset towards the subject so as to help them discover and invent many innovative ideas that would be supportive to solve daily life situations.
During the programme, M-tabs were distributed to students as part of the Chief Minister’s programme that aims to empower higher secondary school students with digital learning aid.
