The Meghalaya Medical Service Recruitment Board (MMSRB) will verify documents of those who have cleared the qualifying examination from December 13, it was announced today.
The recruitment process has proven controversial after irregularities and mistakes were made in the exam process.
The grievance redressal cell set up to deal with complaints received 101 applications, which, the MMSRB Chairperson said today in a press release, were addressed and cleared “in consultation with the Law Department and expert agency.”
The agency pointed out that there was a typographical error in the answer key that was uploaded on the website for Question No. 21 (set A), 53 (set B), 78 (set C) and 4 (set D).
There was a typographical error with the question No. 42 (set A), 74 (set B), 99 (set C) and 25 (set D) as provided by the expert agency where in place of “Defined” the word “denied” was printed.
In its effort to ensure a fair and transparent conduct of the recruitment process, the board has decided that a grace mark was given to all candidates whose answer was shown wrong for the first error during the initial evaluation of OMR Response sheet by the system. However, no mark was given to those who did not attempt at all.
A grace mark was also given to all candidates whose answer was shown wrong for the second error during the initial evaluation of OMR Response sheet by the system. However, no mark was given to those who did not attempt at all.
The list of exam results was then updated and uploaded on www.meghealth.gov.in.
The process of document verification will commence from December 13 and the candidates will be called in descending order, as per vacancies advertised.
If two or more candidates have secured an equal percentage of total marks in the qualifying examination, the order of merit in respect of such candidates shall be fixed on the basis of their age (the person or persons older in age being placed higher in the order of merit).
Also, if during the process of physical verification of documents some documents are found missing or not in order, a window period of 72 hours will be given to the candidates to correct this discrepancy. No documents will be accepted after the 72-hour window.
