The Diengpasoh primary health centre is so deprived of support that it relies on an autorickshaw to ferry patients around instead of an ambulance.
Based on complaints that the PHC is severely lacking in several areas, the Khasi Students Union (KSU) inspected the centre yesterday. It found that the PHC lacks doctors, sufficient staff and the building is used as quarters for staff as well as to treat patients.
An auto has also been rented in order to provide transportation in lieu of a proper ambulance.
