The number of new Covid-19 cases outnumbered recoveries from the disease in Meghalaya for the fourth day running, with 38 new infections reported today, along with 23 recoveries. There were no new fatalities linked to the virus.
East Khasi Hills recorded 26 new cases, East Garo Hills six, West Khasi Hills three, West Garo Hills two and Ri-Bhoi one.
East Khasi Hills also accounted for 16, with three in Ri-Bhoi, two in West Garo Hills, one in East Garo Hills and one in West Khasi Hills.
There are now 286 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 204 active cases, West Garo Hills 20, East Garo Hills 19, Ri-Bhoi 13, West Khasi Hills 13, West Jaiñtia Hills 11, East Jaiñtia Hills four, South Garo Hills one, South West Garo Hills one, South West Khasi Hills zero and North Garo Hills zero.
In all, Meghalaya has had 84,188 Covid-19 cases, of which 286 are active, 82,435 have recovered and 1,467 have died from the virus.
