There were 248 new cases of Covid-19 in Meghalaya today, the highest figure since September 5. There were also 99 recoveries and one fatality.
The lone death was in West Jaiñtia Hills and was of an unvaccinated person, the Health Department informed.
East Khasi Hills recorded 104 new cases today, West Khasi Hills 77, Ri-Bhoi 37, South West Khasi Hills 15 and 15 between the other seven districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 56 recoveries, West Khasi Hills 16 and 27 between the other nine districts.
There are now 1,952 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 876 active cases, West Khasi Hills 372, West Jaiñtia Hills 290, Ri-Bhoi 193, South West Khasi Hills 104, West Garo Hills 50, East Jaiñtia Hills 28, East Garo Hills 13, North Garo Hills 12, South West Garo Hills 12 and South Garo Hills two.
In all, Meghalaya has had 79,206 Covid-19 cases, of which 1,952 are active, 75,883 have recovered and 1,371 have died from the virus. The recovery rate decreased to 95.80 percent. The fatality went back down to 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases rose to 189.86 and dropped for new deaths to 3.57.
