There were three new Covid-related fatalities in Meghalaya today, as well as 87 new cases and 115 recoveries.
One death was in East Khasi Hills, one in Ri-Bhoi and one in West Khasi Hills, the Health Department informed.
The seven-day rolling average of new deaths has now risen back to 2.57, the highest the figure has been since September 30.
East Khasi Hills recorded 70 new cases today and 17 between the other 10 districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 63 recoveries, West Khasi Hills 32, West Jaintia Hills 13 and seven between the other eight districts.
There are now 892 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 482 active cases, West Khasi Hills 252, West Jaintia Hills 70, Ri-Bhoi 37, West Garo Hills 20, South West Khasi Hills 12, East Jaintia Hills eight, East Garo Hills six, South West Garo Hills two, South Garo Hills two and North Garo Hills one.
In all, Meghalaya has had 82,734 Covid-19 cases, of which 892 are active, 80,411 have recovered and 1,431 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 97.19 percent. The fatality is 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 81.71 and for new deaths is 2.57.
