There were 79 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Meghalaya today, along with 58 recoveries and no fatalities.
East Khasi Hills recorded 45 new cases today, 23 in West Khasi Hills and there were 11 between the other nine districts.
East Khasi Hills accounted for 35 recoveries, West Jaintia Hills 11 and 12 between the other nine districts.
There are now 761 active Covid-19 cases in the state. East Khasi Hills alone accounts for 484 active cases, West Khasi Hills 159, West Jaintia Hills 46, Ri-Bhoi 37, West Garo Hills 17, East Jaintia Hills four, South West Khasi Hills four, East Garo Hills three, South West Garo Hills three, North Garo Hills two and South Garo Hills two.
In all, Meghalaya has had 83,158 Covid-19 cases, of which 761 are active, 80,958 have recovered and 1,439 have died from the virus. The recovery rate is 97.35 percent. The fatality is 1.73 percent. The seven-day rolling average for new cases is 73.00 and for new deaths is 1.57.
