A community library was inaugurated at the Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah, Shillong today.
Cabinet Minister and local MLA Ampareen Lyngdoh attended the inauguration as the chief guest in the presence of NEEPCO officials, members of Sahaki, donors and community members.
Lyngdoh praised the library’s ideal location and expressed hope that the Seng Kynthei would collaborate with nearby schools to encourage children to spend time in the library.
She also spoke on the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on shaping minds, acknowledging its potential as a knowledge acquisition tool while cautioning against its potential to distort perceptions of issues.
The library, an initiative of the Seng Kynthei Laitumkhrah Pyllun, and supported by the local MLA and NEEPCO, aims to cater to the needs of students and readers, fostering a culture of reading and learning by providing access to a diverse range of books and educational resources.
