The Jaiñtia National Council (JNC) Western Zone has raised concerns about poorly constructed PMGSY road from Raliang to Sahsniang and urged the State government to rectify the damages or reconstruct the structures.
Following reports about the poor condition of the road, the JNC said it conducted an inspection today to find out of the 21 km route, only 2 km (Raliang-Laskein) was completed. However, the constructed road has already worn out.
The JNC said that while it appreciates the government’s efforts in promoting development, the construction work is substandard as the asphalt road is already damaged, indicating inadequate construction practices.
“This road is vital for the economic well-being of the villages and surrounding areas, and proper construction will greatly benefit the local population” the JNC said.
