Ophthalmologists within Shillong region attended a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program on the theme “Updates in Ophthalmology” organised by the Department of Ophthalmology of the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS).
The programme held yesterday dwelt on interesting clinical cases, fostering a collaborative environment for knowledge sharing. Discussions centred on the latest advancements in ophthalmic treatments and technologies, ensuring participating doctors remained updated on the best practices in the field.
Post-graduate students in ophthalmology also presented their research papers and shared unique and rare clinical cases, showcasing the calibre of future ophthalmologists emerging from the institute.
Head of the Ophthalmology Department, Prof. (Dr.) Tanie Natung emphasised the importance of active participation in such academic events to stay updated on the ever-evolving field of ophthalmology.
NEIGRIHMS Director Prof. (Dr) Nalin Mehta stressed on the importance of continuous learning and encouraged ophthalmologists in the Shillong region to actively participate in such academic events to remain abreast of the latest advancements and treatment modalities in ophthalmology.
