Shillong, Aug 24: The Hynñiewtrep Youths Council (HYC) has filed an RTI application seeking details of legal proceedings concerning Lum Survey in Shillong.
The application was filed by Enlang Sawian, education secretary, HYC-CEC, to the PIO, Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills.
Sawian has sought details of all pending and disposed cases relating to Lum Survey, including case numbers, court names, parties involved, date of institution, nature of dispute and present status.
He also sought certified copies of judgments, orders, interim orders, stay orders and status-quo orders, and whether any court has restrained the government, district administration or defence authorities from taking action in the area.
Information was also sought on proceedings relating to eviction, removal of encroachment, demolition, possession, ownership, title, survey or demarcation of land at Lum Survey, copies of pleadings filed by the Government, details of appeals or writ petitions, legal opinions and official communications.
