The Education Department has issued the official academic calendar for higher secondary schools under MBOSE for 2025-26.
While the Class 12 session has already begun, that of Class 11 will start on June 2, according to the schedule. Both sessions will conclude on December 19, with the winter vacations to begin the following day.
The dates for the promotion exams for Class 11 students and the final exams for those of Class 12 will be notified later by MBOSE. Internal exams, including half yearly exams, can be decided by the individual schools.
As the academic session for Class 11 is shorter, the departmental notification stated that schools may hold extra classes in the evenings or on Saturdays to ensure that the syllabus is completed on time. All institutions must strictly follow the list of government notified holidays (announced in October last year) unless changes are made and notified by the authorities.
Government schools were also told to adhere to mandated school timings – 9am to 4pm (including lunch break) – while other MBOSE schools were advised to schedule their days accordingly.
