Taj Cement organised a free health and eye camp in Mynkre, East Jaintia Hills, yesterday.
Dubbed ‘The Honest Checkup’ (the company’s tagline is that it is ‘The Honest Cement’), the camp benefited more than 250 people from the area, a press release stated today.
The camp focused on preventive healthcare, offering free health screenings and providing medicines for diagnosed conditions. Villagers were also sensitised about the importance of regular checkups and adopting preventive measures for a healthier lifestyle.
The eye camp provided vision screenings, prescribed medicines and spectacles for those requiring vision correction or eye protection.
Speaking about the initiative, Sanjeev Surekha, Group CFO at Taj Cement, said, “At Taj Cement, honesty is the core of everything we do. Mynkre village, like many others, has supported our journey and through ‘The Honest Checkup’, we strive to give back in a way that reflects our core values of honesty and care. By addressing their health and vision needs, we aim to contribute to their well-being and empower them for a better tomorrow.”
