The College of Community Science, CAU(I) Tura commemorated the International Day of Potato today in support of and to promote small-scale and family farming production of potatoes, with a particular focus on rural farmers, including women farmers.
The day aimed to support efforts to reduce hunger, malnutrition, and poverty while striving to achieve food security and promoting the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity.
A total of 55 participants, including farmers, students, faculty, and non-teaching staff of CCS, attended the event.
Farmers were also provided with vegetable seeds and vermicompost to benefit their agricultural practices.
