Revering the martyrs of the motherland, the Border Security Force (BSF) Meghalaya today observed a ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ event with the civil administration at Mawdiangdiang here.
The campaign is a nationwide initiative to honour the sacrifices of the brave souls who have safeguarded the nation. The event was graced by the presence of BSF Deputy Inspector General Jalaj Sinha as the chief guest.
The programme commenced with the solemn inauguration of the memorial plaque dedicated to the national braveheart, the late Captain Keishing Clifford Nongrum, who was awarded a posthumous Maha Vir Chakra for his contribution during the Kargil War.
The event continued with the hoisting of the national flag and singing of the national anthem. Furthermore, the programme featured the heartwarming ritual of ‘Vasudha Vandan’ and ‘Veeron ka Vandan,’ emphasizing the deep-rooted respect for the soil and the defenders of the nation.
Acknowledging the importance of environmental conservation, the campaign also included a plantation drive, symbolising the growth and prosperity of the nation while advocating for a sustainable future. The gathering collectively undertook the ‘Panch Pran Pledge,’ vowing to contribute to the betterment of society, preservation of our environment and the continued honour of our national heroes.
