A blood storage centre was today inaugurated in Khliehriat CHC.
East Jaiñtia Hills District Medical Health Officer, Dr D.Shylla who inaugurated the centre hoped that it will cater to the needs of patients in the district. He appealed people to come forward for blood donation and to encourage public participation in this noble cause.
Khliehriat CHC, Medical Officer Dr C.S. Bareh said that the centre is expected to ease patients who earlier had to go to Ialong hospital in Jowai for blood.
Earlier, 11 health workers of the district voluntarily donated blood for the centre.
