The A’chik State Peoples’ Front (ASPF), on behalf of the Chiramgre village, has urgently requested the renovation of the local lower primary government school.
The school building is in a dilapidated state, as the ASPF demonstrated with photographs that it sent to Education Minister Rakkam A Sangma.
“The school is currently facing severe infrastructure issues, including a dilapidated condition and a leaking tin roof,” the ASPF said. “The leaking roof has caused significant disruptions to the educational environment, especially during the rainy monsoon season. As a result, conducting classes becomes extremely challenging, as rainwater seeps into the classrooms, forcing interruptions in the learning process.”
It got so bad that the half-yearly exam could not be conducted at the scheduled time due to continuous rainfall for a week.
