To encourage further success and recognise their achievements, two outstanding students from the Umroi area in Ri-Bhoi were felicitated by the National People’s Youth Front (NPYF), the youth wing of the National People’s Party (NPP).
The two students who excelled in the Class 10 SSLC examination are Evanshan Nongrum from Nongthymmai Raid Madan Kyrdem and a student of Sacred Heart Boys Secondary School, Shillong, who secured second position in the Top 20 list, and Queency Kharsohnoh, a student of Umroi Presbyterian Secondary School, who secured seventh position in the same list.
The NPYF Umroi block unit presented each student with a laptop and commemorative gifts. The felicitation programme was attended by Umroi MLA Damanbait Lamare, NPYF Meghalaya general secretary Pynhun Rynghang, NPYF Umroi block president Rishan Lyngdoh, NPP Ri-Bhoi vice-president WS Ryntathiang and other NPYF members from Umroi.
Speaking on the occasion, Lamare expressed immense joy and pride at the achievement of the two students, stating that their success has brought great honour not only to their families but to the entire Umroi constituency.
