Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Ri Bhoi, under the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam organised a fish fingerling distribution programme along with training on scientific pond management to promote sustainable and profitable fish farming among local farmers.
The programme, which was held today, focused on equipping farmers with high-quality fish seeds and scientific knowledge to optimize their fish farming practices.
Experts from KVK Ri Bhoi provided hands-on training in modern aquaculture techniques, efficient pond management, and sustainable fish farming practices to enhance growth and productivity.
Speaking at the event, Subject Matter Specialist (Fisheries) Bankitkupar Mukhim emphasised the significance of using quality fish seeds and adopting scientific management techniques to boost farmers’ income and improve overall fish farming efficiency.
The distribution of advanced fish fingerlings is expected to benefit numerous farmers across the region, contributing to enhanced fish production, improved farm incomes, and economic growth.
