The Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the district level Chief Minister Youth Development Scheme (CMYDS) has informed that the West Jaintia Hills committee has invited applications from registered organisations for financial assistance under the scheme for the year 2021-22 and 2023-24.
The objective of the scheme is to provide creative outlets to the youth to positively channel their energies and to strengthen the spirit of good citizenship, service to society and healthy social attitudes and orientation, etc
Entities eligible for the scheme are societies and cooperatives, voluntary organisations, sports/youth/cultural clubs and associations, not-for-profit organisations, socio-cultural clubs, alumni associations, community level youth institutions/organisations/groups, registered sports associations and entities, district level state government departments.
The scheme funds can be availed for the organisation of district level youth festivals, conduct of cleanliness drives, youth workshops/seminars, industry-specific exposure trips, youth career counselling fairs, etc, sports events and tournaments, Chief Minister’s tournament/cup in various sporting disciplines, indigenous sports competitions, community regeneration volunteering programmes, financial literacy workshops and seminars, digital literacy workshops and programmes, mental wellbeing seminars/workshops/counselling programmes, campaigns and programmes in line with the Sports Authority of India’s Fit India Campaign, neighbourhood youth parliaments, tournament/competitions/events participation, procurement of sport equipment and consumables, undertaking minor repair works sports infrastructure.
