The office of the West Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police has today informed that a resolution was adopted at a meeting convened by the Jowai Traffic Branch, headmen and executive members of Mookyrdup localities and the president of the local taxi association.
It was resolved at the meeting to institute a traffic arrangement for the Mookyrdup area, namely a one way rule from Mookyrdup junction to North Liberty School from 7am to 9am, where all vehicles dropping students at the said school will have to enter from the main road (Mookyrdup junction) and exit via the irrigation office road towards Mooralang through the Jowai Polytechnic road.
No entry will be allowed from the Jowai Polytechnic road towards Mookyrdup locality from 7:30am to 9am.
This new arrangement will be enforced only from Monday to Friday, excluding school holidays.
