One Covid-related death was recorded in South West Garo Hills district today, the Health Department informed. There were also 95 new cases and 27 recoveries in the State.
There have now been six deaths linked to Covid-19 in Meghalaya this month.
There were 47 new infections in West Garo Hills , 19 in East Khasi Hills, 13 South West Garo Hills, 8 Ri Bhoi, two each in North Garo Hills and South Garo Hills and one each in East Garo Hills, Eastern West Khasi Hills, West Jaiñtia Hills and West Khasi Hills.
Twelve recoveries were in West Garo Hills, 10 East Khasi Hills, two each in North Garo Hills and Ri Bhoi and East Garo Hills one.
There are now 528 active Covid-19 cases in the state – West Garo Hills 270, East Khasi Hills 132, Ri Bhoi 55, South West Garo Hills 25, 13 each in South Garo Hills and West Jaiñtia Hills, East Garo Hills seven, North Garo Hills six, three each in Eastern West Khasi Hills and West Khasi Hills and East Jaiñtia Hills one.
In all, Meghalaya has had 94,763 Covid-19 cases, out of which 92,635 have recovered and 1,600 have died from the virus.
Fifty-four patients are being treated in hospital with the disease – 42, 11 West Garo Hills and one in West Jaiñtia Hills.
