The department of Business Administration Shillong College organised a seminar for students on “Entrepreneurship in the Northeast with special reference to the hospitality industry” today.
The resource persons for the program were Dr. Ricky A.J Syngkon from the Department of Commerce, North Eastern Hill University and Jason Lenthang, a local Entrepreneur.
Dr Syngkon in his presentation spoke about entrepreneurship in the Northeast and the opportunities and challenges faced. He emphasised on the importance of changing the mind-sets and perception of people in the region towards entrepreneurship. He also highlighted the importance of acquiring the skills and business acumen which are prerequisites to entrepreneurial success.
Lenthang shared his experience, opportunities and challenges in entrepreneurship.
An interactive session was also held and students presented papers during the third session.
