The Jaiñtia Youth Federation (JYF), Saipung Circle has expressed concern over the government’s failure to pay attention to development of primary schools under Saipung block.
According to the JYF most of the primary schools are in a state of decay and most of them are buckling under the weight of problems due to unavailability of even a proper building.
Circle president Oswald B Nampui took up the matter with the office of the Sub-Divisional School Education Officer, East Jaiñtia Hills and asked the government to pay more attention to primary schools by generating more funds for their overall development.
Nampui said many government LP schools are left unattended for many years and some of them don’t even have a building to hold classes.
Pointing out that the absence of proper government schools and infrastructures have serious negative impacts on children Nampui rue that the state of affairs of primary schools has slowed down the pace of development in education as they have failed to serve the purpose for which they were created.
The JYF said that the MDA government has failed to provide basic education to the needy students in the rural areas.
