A highly decomposed body of a man was found lying in a jungle at Lumshnong under East Jaiñtia Hills district, police said today.
The body was found on February 23 at a jungle under the area of Star Cement and is suspected to be of a non-tribal, they said.
“During search, one Electoral Photo Identity Card is found from the possession of the deceased bearing the name of Shri Motka Tudu (45 yrs) S/O Mail; Address of Rampur village, P.S.: Kachugoan, Kokrajhar, Assam,” police said.
While all legal formalities were completed and as the dead body was in a highly decomposed condition, a spot post mortem examination was conducted.
Police have asked concerned people who could identify to claim the body which is being kept that Khliehriat CHC morgue.
