The District Level Sports Meet 2022, organised by Uplifter Alternative in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Shillong, concluded yesterday at Nongthymmai playground.
Several teams from Laitkroh, Mawphlang, Sohiong, Pynurlsa, Mawpat and Shella-Bholaganj participated in the two-day event.
Nongthymmai MDC Latiplang Kharkongor was the chief guest in the presence of Lawjynriew Rangbah Shnong Biki Lyngskor, and NYKS District Youth Coordinator D Rapsang.
The sports and games that were organised during the event were football, 100 metres race, tug of war and indigenous game of Mawpoiñ.
Trophies and certificates were distributed to the participants by National Youth Volunteers and members of Uplifter Alternative.
The event was conducted as part of the celebrations of 50 years of Meghalaya statehood and the theme of the programme was ‘Youth Signify Sportsman Spirit’.
