      Umkiang dorbar demand upgrade of PHC to CHC

      The Umkiang dorbar have urged authorities to upgrade the Umkiang Public Health Centre (PHC) to Community Health Centre (CHC) for the convenience of patients.

      The dorbar led by assistance waheh shnong, Kynjaimon Amse met Health Minister, James Sangma urging him to explore possibilities to upgrade the health centre, which is catering to about 15,000 of people from over 16 villages.

      He said the upgrade would benefit the border populace, adding, that the upgradation of the centre would ensure increase in staff strength besides better healthcare facilities to the people.
