The incomplete work on the Pahambir to Mawïong road in Ri-Bhoi, now pending for four years, has left residents understandably annoyed.
The 2.5km public road, work on which began in 2017, has not been blacktopped by the contractor, with apparently no follow-up action taken by the authorities.
After their pleas on the matter went unanswered, the villagers and headman, Matheus Maring, today showed members of the press around, detailing the level of hardship they undergo when using the rough road.
Maring demanded that either the contractor complete the project or that a new contractor be appointed to finish the work.
