The Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management Camp-Shillong held a valedictory-cum-certificate distribution programme for its outgoing third batch of students in the Tour Guide Training Programme for Meghalaya under the Hunar Se Rozgar Tak scheme of the Union Ministry of Tourism.
Advisor to the state government, AL Hek, was the chief guest and Cyril VD Diengdoh the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Hek highlighted the core potential of Meghalaya as a hotspot tourist destination with culture, music, folklore and adventure as its unique selling points.
Eighteen participants successfully completed the Tour Guide Training course and received their certificates today.
IITTM Camp Shillong came into existence in October 2018 and is functioning from the premises of the Institute of Hotel Management. It organises short-term three-month courses for the youth and one workshop on homestays was organised in August 2019 with 46 participants.
Two-year full-time MBA and BBA in Tourism and Travel Management will be started at IITTM Camp Shillong, mainly for the students of the North East.
