The North East Dialogue Forum (NEDF) has written to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to ensure that the supply of medicines to Mizoram is not hampered by the dispute the state is having with Assam.
Although Mizoram borders Manipur and Tripura (not to mention Myanmar and Bangladesh), most of its supplies pass through the Barak Valley of Assam. This route has been disrupted of late because of clashes between police of the two states over the disputed border last week.
Today the NEDF asked Mandaviya to take prompt action to see that medicine supply to Mizoram is not hindered and the central government should go as far as airlifting supplies into Mizoram to guarantee this.
