The East Jaiñtia Hills Deputy Commissioner has issued a notice asking all peddlers to stop selling ice-creams after children reportedly fell ill after consuming them.
According to the Deputy Commissioner, Ethelbert Kharmalki a number of children developed fever after consuming ice-cream sold by peddlers along the road sides.
Kharmalki informed that the Food and Safety officer from Khliehriat has been immediately deputed to collect samples from the ice-cream peddler randomly in Ladrymbai and Khliehriat in order to ensure that the ice-cream is not contaminated with COVID-19.
“All peddlers in the district are not allowed to sell ice-creams till confirmation reports are received from authorized testing laboratory,” the DC said.
