The South West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner has informed that timing to open shops within Mawkyrwat market has been relaxed from 8:30 am to 7 pm.
In an order, the Deputy Commissioner said vending and parking of both commercial and private vehicles along the PWD road from Mawkyllut to the CHC point are prohibited and shop owners are not allowed to let vendors sit in front of their shops to sell wares.
Vendors are allowed to sell their wares only at the new market near the Mawkyrwat Community Hall, Ïew Sankur and the land belonging to Oxcy Syiemlieh, Hiarity Syiemlieh Pyndaplin Syiemlieh.
The Deputy Commissioner has also urged residents to follow Covid protocols and guidelines issued to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
