Due to detection of positive Covid-19 cases/high risk contacts in the house of Rev. Nowin Karthak, Church of Assembly of God, Keating Road and in the house of R Basaiawmoit, Riat Laban East near St John’s Church, Madan Laban which requires contact tracing, testing and isolation to be effected in the interest of health of general public to prevent against any possible spread of the pandemic, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District has declared the two houses as micro containment areas so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit on the site with effect from November 14.
The orders stated that no persons are allowed to move into the containment areas and inhabitants within the containment areas shall not move out and shall strictly remain inside their home. The concerned Incident Commanders shall supervise and monitor strict compliance of the orders. Any violation of the order will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC.
