Mawkyrwat, Sep 9: A male body was found lying at Umjaraiñ market at around 7:30 am today.
South West Khasi Hills police said the deceased has been identified as Nobartis Sohphoh, (50) a resident of Mawsdei.
Inquest proceedings were conducted and the body was sent to Civil Hospital, Mawkyrwat for post-mortem examination.
Police said family members have been directed to submit a written FIR for registration of a UD case.
