Mawkyrwat, Aug 8: A convergence-cum-enrolment camp was organised by the Block Mission Management Unit of the Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLS), Ranikor Block in collaboration with various government departments and 23 villages at Lower Puksora under South West Khasi Hills District.
Initiated under the VC-VEC-VO framework, the objective of the programme was to ensure the convergence of government departments with the rural communities, to create awareness about various Central and State-sponsored schemes, and to facilitate on-the-spot enrolment for eligible beneficiaries.
A wide range of services and enrolments were carried out during the camp, which saw enthusiastic participation from the villagers.
During the camp, 81 individuals availed free medical consultation, 53 Aadhaar updates and six new enrolments, 12 Aadhaar linking, seven new bank accounts opened, five SHG bank loan applications processed. Individuals also enrolled for different schemes, with 19 for PMSBY, 15 for PMJJBY and 34 under PM Kisan.
There were 66 applications for the Watershed Project under the Soil & Water Conservation Department, 41 registrations under MHIS, 12 for E-Shram.
Additionally, 24 individuals received free seeds and bio-pesticides and a water test was conducted in four villages. Organisers informed that the sales generated through SHG stalls amounted to Rs 26, 800.
The camp also featured awareness sessions from 16 government departments, attracting participation from 388 villagers.
Deputy Commissioner B. Mawlong, Ranikor BDO S. Marweiñ, Eson Khongrymai, District Mission Manager, MSRLS Mawkyrwat Klen Sangma, Village Head of Lower Puksora, representatives from various departments, and local residents attended the camp.
