Four suspected drug peddlers were arrested with 1.2 kilo of Yaba tablets by East Jaiñtia Hills police today.
Based on a tip off, a joint operation was conducted by Ratacherra Check Post and Umkiang PPP and the team intercepted a Maruti Alto bearing registration number ML 11 3832 and during search they recovered the tablets.
The arrested persons are Sajul Islam, Jabir Hussain Barbhuiya, Abdul Mohit Barbhuiya and Ratikul Islam Barbhuiya.
Police also seized four mobile phones from their possession.
A case is being registered and investigation is in progress to unearth the forward and backward linkages, police said.
